Amed is no longer just a quiet fishing village.

Freedivers have known about Jemeluk Bay for years. The rest of Bali is starting to catch up. But unlike the crowded south, Amed still has something most dive destinations have already lost: a world-class ocean, walkable from the street, without the circus around it.

Jemeluk Bay

There are very few places in the world where 50 metres of depth sits just 40 metres from a calm, swimmable beach. Jemeluk Bay is one of them. The water is flat, the visibility is consistently 20 to 30 metres, and the marine life is extraordinary. Freedivers have been making the trip to Amed specifically for this bay for decades.

Water temperature: 27-29°C year-round.

A rash guard or 2-3mm wetsuit is all you need.

Coral wall starts at 3 metres and drops continuously to over 50 metres.

Beginners and advanced freedivers dive the same site, just at different depths.

15 minutes from the USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben, one of the world's most famous dive sites.

No van. No crowd. Just grab your gear and walk to the water.

At most dive schools in Asia you start your morning crammed into a van with six strangers, driving 30 minutes to a boat dock. At Aquatix, you walk 50 metres down the road. No transit, no loading, no waiting. Just gear up and go.

Sandy beach entry. No queues, no boat, no fuss.

Our own boat for offshore and bluewater sessions, departing directly from the bay. Never shared with other schools or tour groups.

Our pool

We have our own dedicated onsite pool. Ours is massive and is used for all of our training and courses.

17-metres long bean pool to practice your technique

Speargun target practice before your first reef session.

Isolate technique in a controlled environment before open water.

Available for private bookings outside of course hours.

The gear

Your equipment kit is proper freediving gear: a two-piece wetsuit, carbon fibre fins, and a low-volume freediving mask. Fitted, maintained, and the same kit our instructors use. Bad gear creates bad habits.

Two-piece freediving wetsuits. Thermally efficient, flexible, and built for breath-hold diving.

Carbon fiber fins from day one. You learn technique on the equipment that actually matters.

Low-volume freediving masks included. No bulky scuba gear.

Weight systems set up correctly for your body before you enter the water.

All gear cleaned and checked between every session.

We'd love to show you around. Reach out and we'll get back to you within a few hours.
