The Quiet One

A quieter bay just along the coast from Jemeluk. Out of the main scuba traffic and almost always uncrowded. The antidote to peak-season Jemeluk and reliably pleasant because of it.

The Layout

Sandy slopes descend gradually from the shoreline, broken by scattered coral heads and occasional bommies. The shallow section from 5 to 15 metres is clean and well-lit with a light-coloured sandy bottom that makes marine life easy to spot. Depth increases gradually to around 30 metres on the outer reef. No famous formations. No landmark structures.

Calm. No significant current on most days. Visibility runs 15 to 25 metres depending on season. The site is reliably gentle and requires no special preparation or tidal planning.

The Life

Resident Turtles move slowly between feeding areas through the coral heads. Nudibranchs on the reef structure for those who slow down enough to look. Rays on the sandy patches. Reef fish throughout. The aggregate of healthy, undisturbed reef life going about its day is what Savana delivers.

Who This Is For

All experience levels. A natural pairing with Jemeluk for a morning of two dives without rushing. Where Jemeluk offers depth and drama, Savana offers calm and space. For freedivers who want to drift along the bottom at their own pace with no competition for space, this works every time.
